CAMPANIA. Neapolis. Circa 320-300 BC. Didrachm or nomos (Silver, 19 mm, 7.18 g, 6 h), Diophanes. ΔIOΦANOYΣ Diademed head of nymph to right, wearing triple-pendant earring and pearl necklace; behind neck, bunch of grapes. Rev. NEOΠOΛITHΣ Man-headed bull walking right; above, Nike flying right, placing wreath on bull's head; ΠA monogram below. HN III 571. Sambon 439. SNG ANS 318 (this obverse die). A toned example; rare with Diophanes' name visible. Toned. Obverse struck slightly off center, otherwise, about very fine.
