THESSALY. Ainianes. Circa 360s-350s BC. Hemidrachm (Silver, 16 mm, 2.73 g, 11 h), Hypata. Laureate and bearded head of Zeus to left. Rev. AINIAN-ΩN The hero Phemios, nude but for a belt holding a short sword in a scabbard and a chlamys draped over his shoulders and his left arm, standing left, facing front with his head turned to right, hurling a javelin with his right hand and holding his petasos, as if it were a small shield, with his left; on the ground line between his feet, sideways Φ. BCD I 1013. BCD II 26. Traité IV, 452, pl. CCLXXXVII, 15. Rare and struck fine style dies. Very fine.

THESSALY. Gomphi-Philippopolis. Circa 300 BC, or later until the 280s. Tetrachalkon (Bronze, 20 mm, 7.92 g, 7 h). Head of a nymph, turned three-quarters facing to left, her hair seemingly floating and bound with a diadem, and wearing a pearl necklace. Rev. ΓΟΜΦΕ-ΩΝ Zeus Palamnaios seated left on backless throne, holding thunderbolt in his right hand and long scepter in his left. BCD I 1044. BMC 4. Rogers 220. Well preserved and well centered with a fine dark patina. Good very fine.

THESSALY. Kierion. Early to mid 4th Century BC.. (Bronze, 16 mm, 2.94 g, 3 h). Laureate and bearded head of Zeus to left. Rev. [KIEPI-AION] Arne, half-kneeling to her left and playing with knucklebones to her right. BCD II 107.2 (same dies). Obverse struck slightly off-center, otherwise, very fine.
