KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 27 mm, 17.03 g, 3 h), struck under Seleukos I Nikator, Babylon, c. 311-305. Head of youthful Herakles in lion's skin headdress to right. Rev. ΒAΣIΛEΩΣ ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ Zeus seated to left on a throne, holding eagle on his outstretched right hand and long scepter in his left; to left, monogram within wreath; below throne, MI. Price 3747. Well centered and nicely toned. Good very fine.
