CALABRIA. Tarentum. Circa 302-280 BC. Nomos (Silver, 20 mm, 7.87 g, 8 h), struck under the magistrate, Philiarchos. ΦIΛI-APXOΣ Youthful nude jockey on horse standing right, holding wreath to crown the horse's head; above, ΣΑ. Rev. TΑΡΑΣ /AΓA Phalanthos seated astride dolphin to left, holding bunch of grapes. HN III 960. SNG ANS 1052. Vlasto 675 (same dies). Well struck on fine silver and with a lovely obverse. Slightly worn reverse die, otherwise, good very fine.
