LYCAONIA. Ikonion. 1st century BC. (Bronze, 20 mm, 6.14 g, 12 h), struck possibly in the period of Mithradates VI, Menedemos son of Timotheos. Bust of Perseus to right, seen from the back, wearing winged helmet and with harpa and head of Medusa over his left shoulder. Rev. EIKONIEΩN /MENEΔHM TIMOΘEOV Zeus seated left on throne, holding long scepter and eagle. SNG BN 2268-70. Very rare and with a most artistic and powerful obverse. Good very fine.

The iconography of the obverse of this coin is remarkably like the earlier dynastic tetradrachms of Eukratides I of Bactria!.
