ATTICA. Athens. Circa 449-404 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 22 mm, 17.24 g, 11 h), 430s BC. Head of Athena to right, wearing crested Attic helmet adorned with three olive leaves and palmette, round earring and pearl necklace. Rev. ΑΘΕ crescent moon; all within incuse square. Cf. Svoronos pl. 14, 2. Lustrous, very sharply struck and with a wonderful reverse. Obverse slightly off center and with a die fault on the reverse, otherwise, extremely fine.

Achaean League monogram with lyre above, and Δ I to left and right; below, Φ; all within laurel wreath. Agrinion 519 (same dies). BCD Peloponnesos 27.6. A toned example; rare mint. Very fine.
