KINGS OF MACEDON. Time of Philip V and Perseus, 187-168 BC. Triobol (Silver, 15 mm, 1.67 g), struck in the name of the Botteatans, Pella, in the district of Bottiaia (or possibly Thessaloniki?). Macedonian shield ornamented with seven linear crescents around the edge and a tetraskeles of crescents at the center. Rev. ΒΟΤΤΕΑΤΩΝ inscribed on stern of galley to right; below, ΘE. AMNG 123. SNG Ashmolean 3289. Liampi, Schild M47. Toned. Struck on an oblong flan, otherwise, very fine.
