KINGS OF MACEDON. Philip III Arrhidaios, 323-317 BC. Hemidrachm (Silver, 13 mm, 2.11 g, 2 h), in the types of Alexander III the Great, Arados, c. 323-317. Head of youthful Herakles to right, wearing lion's skin headdress. Rev. ΦΙΛΙΠΠΟΥ Zeus seated left on a throne with a back, holding eagle in his right hand and long scepter in his left; below eagle and below throne monograms. Müller 112. Price P 166 (As Marathos). A very rare variety. Slightly doubled inscription on the reverse, otherwise, nearly very fine.
