KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Drachm (Silver, 17.5 mm, 4.30 g, 12 h), Struck under Menander, Sardes, c. 324/3 BC. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion’s skin headdress. Rev. ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ Zeus seated on throne to left, holding eagle in his right hand and scepter in his left; to left, torch; below throne monogram. ADM I Series X. Price 2567. A very attractive, lightly toned example. Slightly off-centered reverse, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.
