KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Hemidrachm (Silver, 14 mm, 2.04 g, 6 h), struck under Menon or Menes, Tyre, c. 332/1-328/7. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion’s skin headdress. Rev. ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ Zeus seated on throne to left, holding eagle in his right hand and scepter in his left. Newell, Dated 8 (Ake). Price 3246 (Ake). Rare; one of the few examples without any controls. Some uncleaned deposits on obverse, otherwise, very fine.
