KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Hemiobol (Bronze, 18.5 mm, 6.19 g, 1 h), a lifetime issue, Sardes, c. 334-323. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion's skin headdress. Rev. AΛEΞANΔPOY flanked by bow in case and club; below club, EYΞ monogram. Müller 841. Price 2552. A clear and perfectly centered example with a glossy dark patina and a bold portrait; rarely seen so nice. Good very fine.

Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion’s skin headdress. Rev. ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ Zeus seated on throne to left, holding eagle in his right hand and scepter in his left. Newell, Dated 8 (Ake). Price 3246 (Ake). Rare; one of the few examples without any controls. Some uncleaned deposits on obverse, otherwise, very fine.

ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ Zeus seated left on high-backed throne, holding eagle in his outstretched right hand and scepter in his left; below throne, Α above Ρ; to left, Ζ. Price 3330. Rare. Clear and well-struck. Somewhat rough surfaces, otherwise, about extremely fine.
