PARTHICO P M TR P COS VI P P SPQR / PRO - VID Providentia standing front, head to left and leaning left on column, holding long scepter in her left hand and pointing with her right at globe set on ground. BMC 639. RIC 361. Strack 258. Woytek 580t. Minor marks and somewhat rough surface on the reverse, otherwise, very fine.



The column on the reverse is often hardly visible and sometimes specimens get described as 'variant without column'. However, 'In Wirklichkeit war die Säule freilich immer intendiert.' (Woytek, p. 474).
