LUCANIA. Velia. Circa 340-334 BC. Nomos (Silver, 21 mm, 7.52 g, 11 h), from the "Θ" group. Head of Athena to right, wearing crested Attic helmet decorated with a griffin; behind neckguard, Θ. Rev. YEΛΗΤΩΝ Lion prowling to right; above, Φ; below, Θ. HN III 1310. SNG ANS 1307-8 (same dies). Williams 295 (O164/R227). The reverse struck off center, otherwise, about very fine.
