LUCANIA. Velia. Circa 340-334 BC. Nomos (Silver, 22 mm, 7.24 g, 3 h), from the "Θ" group. Head of Athena to right, wearing crested Attic helmet decorated with a griffin; behind neckguard, Θ. Rev. YEΛΗΤΩΝ Lion prowling to right; above, Φ; below, Θ. HN III 1310. SNG Oxford 1222 (same dies). Williams 290 (O162/R224). Die-break on the reverse, otherwise, very fine.
