ARABIA. Rabbathmoba. Septimius Severus, 193-211. (Bronze, 27 mm, 15.15 g, 6 h), dated CY P-Δ = 109 = 209/10. AYT KA C C[EΠ CEOVHPOC] Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Septimius Severus to right. Rev. PABAΘMΩ [BHNΩN] Statue of Ares, wearing helmet, cuirass and boots, holding erect sword in right hand, spear and round shield in left, standing facing on square basis decorated with pilasters; on either side, altar; across field, P-Δ (date). Rosenberger 1 var. (bust and date arrangement. SNG ANS 1414 var. (bust and undated). Spijkerman 3 var. (date arrangement). Very rare and attractive for issue. Very fine.

The arrangement of the date as P-Δ, instead of Δ-P, is recorded for this reverse type by Spijkerman for Julia Domna (#18). Unfortunately, the depiction provided does not allow one to compare the dies of our specimen with that recorded for Domna.
