BRUTTIUM. Rhegion. Circa 435-425 BC. Drachm (Silver, 18 mm, 4.09 g, 12 h). Lion’s mask facing. Rev. RECIN-O-N Iokastos, bearded and draped from the waist, seated left on backless stool, holding long scepter in his right hand and left resting on hip; all within olive wreath. De Luynes 792 (same dies). Herzfelder 26n (D15/R22, this coin). HN III 2478. McClean 1867 (same dies). SNG Copenhagen 1931 (same dies). SNG Leake 840-1 (same dies). SNG Lockett 653 (same dies). A desirable coin with a good pedigree, lightly toned and well-centered. A few light marks, otherwise, very fine.
