MACEDON. Dikaia. Circa 500-465 BC. Hemiobol (Silver, 8.5 mm, 0.30 g). ΔΙ Bull’s protome to left, head facing. Rev. Quadripartite incuse square. Rosen 182. SNG ANS 1006. SNG Tübingen 2648. Good very fine.

This is a very rare early hemiobol of Dikaia in Chalkidiki, often missattributed as either "uncertain Thraco-Macedonian" or "Lamponeia". The style of the coin definitely points towards a northern Aegean origin; more particularly a mint in the region of the Chalkidiki.
