1. Julius Caesar, first half of March, 44 BC. Denarius (Silver, 18.5 mm, 3.82 g, 5 h), with P. Sepullius Macer, Rome. CAESAR - DICT PERPETVO Laureate head of Julius Caesar to right. Rev. [P•]SEPVLLIVS - MACER Venus standing to left, holding Victory in her right hand and long scepter resting on star in her left. Babelon (Julia) 49 and (Sepulia) 4. Crawford 480/11. CRI 107b. RBW 1684. Sydenham 1684. Toned. Test mark on obverse; struck slightly off center, otherwise, very fine.

2. Octavian, autumn 30-summer 29 BC. Denarius (Silver, 20 mm, 3.89 g, 5 h), uncertain mint in Italy (Brundisium or Rome?). Bare head of Octavian to right. Rev. IMP - CAESAR Trophy of arms consisting of helmet, cuirass, shield and crossed spears, all set on a galley prow to right; at base, crossed rudder and anchor. BMC 625. Cohen 119. CRI 419. RIC I 265a. Toned. About extremely fine.

3. Tiberius, 14-37. Denarius (Silver, 19 mm, 3.77 g, 12 h), Lugdunum, 18-35. TI CAESAR DIVI AVG F AVGVSTVS Laureate head of Tiberius to right. Rev. PONTIF MAXIM Livia (as Pax) seated to right on throne with ornate legs, holding scepter in right hand and olive branch in left; below, single line. BMC 48. Cohen 16. RIC I 30. Toned. Good very fine.

4. Gaius (Caligula), 37-41. Denarius (Silver, 18.5 mm, 3.71 g, 6 h), Rome, 37-38. C CAESAR AVG GERM P M TR POT Laureate head of Caligula to right. Rev. DIVVS AVG PATER PATRIAE Radiate head of Divus Augustus to right. BMC 17. Cohen 2. RIC I 16. Toned. Porous surfaces; marks and scratches, otherwise, very fine.

5. Claudius, 41-54. Denarius (Silver, 19.5 mm, 3.51 g, 12 h), Lugdunum, 41-42. TI CLAVD CAESAR AVG GERM P M TR P Laureate head of Claudius to right. Rev. CONSTANTIAE AVGVSTI Constantia seated to left on curule chair, raising right hand and resting feet on stool. BMC 13. Cohen 6. RIC I 14. Very rare; toned. Edge chipped and repaired; some minor edge loss elsewhere; scratches and marks, otherwise, very fine.

6. Nero, 54-68. Denarius (Silver, 18.5 mm, 3.47 g, 6 h), Rome, 65-66. NERO CAESAR AVGVSTVS Laureate head of Nero to right. Rev. VESTA Hexastyle temple of Vesta with domed roof and within, a statue of Vesta seated to left, holding patera in her right hand and scepter in her left. BMC 104. Cohen 335. RIC I 62. Attractively toned; well struck reverse. Good very fine.

7. Galba, 68-69. Denarius (Silver, 18.5 mm, 3.27 g, 6 h), Rome. IMP SER GALB[A CAE]SAR AVG Laureate and draped bust of Galba to right. Rev. SALVS GEN HVMANI Salus standing to left with right foot on globe, sacrificing from a patera held in her right hand, over a lit altar and holding rudder with her left. Cohen 236. RIC I 209. Rare and attractively toned. Areas of roughness and scratches, otherwise, extremely fine.

10. Vespasian, 69-79. Denarius (Silver, 18.5 mm, 3.29 g, 6 h), Rome, 76. IMP CAESAR VESPASIANVS [AVG] Laureate head of Vespasian to right. Rev. COS VII Eagle standing facing on altar, with wings spread and head turned to right. BMC 180. Cohen 121. RIC II.1 847. Lightly toned. Graffito and light marks, otherwise, good very fine.

TR P VIIII IMP XV COS VII P P Statue of a nude, radiate male figure, holding a spear and a parazonium, standing facing on a rostral column. BMC 29. Cohen 289. RIC I 46. Toned and well centered. Scratches and graffito, otherwise, good very fine.
