The work was commenced by Hugo and Jan Stein, and directed by the four magistrates C. Guldewagen, G. Fabritius, M. Steyn, F. Wouters. The burgermeisters of the year 1659 had this medal struck). A particularly attractive and well-struck piece. A few very minor marks, otherwise, good extremely fine.
A beautiful piece commemorating the building of one of the earliest canals in the Netherlands: it was 30 kilometers long and served as the main transportation link between the two cities for over 200 years.
