LUCANIA. Metapontum. Circa 330-290 BC. Nomos or Didrachm (Silver, 21 mm, 7.82 g, 1 h). Head of Demeter to left, wearing grain wreath, triple pendant earring and pearl necklace. Rev. ΜΕΤΑ Ear of barley with leaf to left; to left above leaf, fork or rake; below leaf, ΔΑ. Johnston Class C, 5.16. Some striking weakness on the high points, otherwise, very fine.
