Rev. • ΒΑΣΙΛΕΙΟΝ ΤΗΣ ΕΛΛΑΔΟΣ • Crowned and mantled shield bearing the coat of arms of the Kingdom of Greece; below, 1 ΔΡΑΧΜH flanked by the privy marks bee (for the Mint Director, Renouard de Bussière, 1860-1879) on the left and, on the right, an anchor (for the Engraver General, A. CILICIA. Kelenderis. Circa 425-400 BC. Stater (Silver, 23 mm, 9.51 g, 10 h). Youth, holding whip and reins, dismounting from horse rearing right; to upper left, sun with ten rays; below horse, EP. Rev. ΚΕΛΕ Mountain goat kneeling to right, head turned back to left; to right, facing head of lion. Cf. BMC 34-35. Cf. von Aulock 5640 (same obverse). Nomos 9, 21 October 2014, 174. Apparently unpublished in the standard references. Rare and stylistically very attractive. Rough surfaces, otherwise, very fine.
