ΙΑΚΩΒΙΔΗΣ; privy marks cornucopia (for the Mint Director) and torch (for the Engraver General, Henri-Auguste Patey, 1896-1930) flanking the date. Rev. ΔΙΔΡΑΧΜΟΝ Veiled Thetis, seated to left on a hippocamp swimming to right, holding, with her right hand, the shield of Achilles adorned with a facing gorgoneion, and resting her left oat her waist. Diademed and draped bust of Eukratides to right, wearing Macedonian helmet adorned with bull´s horn and ear. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΜΕΓΑΛΟΥ / ΕΥΚΡΑΤΙΔΟΥ The Dioscouri, each holding palm branch and lance, galloping on horseback to right; below, monogram. Bopearachchi 7G. HGC 12, 136 (R1). SNG ANS 476-8. Rare. Light porosity on reverse, otherwise, good very fine.
