SYRIA, Cyrrhestica. Hieropolis. Trajan, 98-117. (Bronze, 26 mm, 14.87 g, 12 h), commemorating the Festival of Atargatis/Astarte in Hieropolis. ΑΥΤΟΚΡ ΚΑΙϹ Ν[ΕΡΟΥ ΤΡΑΙΑΝΟϹ ΑΡΙϹΤ ϹΕΒ ΓΕΡΜ ΔΑ] Laureate head of Trajan to right, with slight drapery on his left shoulder. Rev. ΘΕΑϹ ϹΥΡΙΑ/Ϲ ΙΕΡΟΠΟΛΕΙ/Α all within a laurel wreath tied at the bottom and closed with a medallion at the top. BMC 4. Butcher 7. RPC III, 3449. SNG Copenhagen 50. Scarce issue.
