ΒΑΣΙΛΕΥΣ ΤΩΝ ΕΛΛΗΝΩΝ E(= Essai) 1877 Mature head of George I to left; below truncation, in tiny letters, BAPPE. Rev. Laurel wreath tied below, containing ΔΙΩΒΟΛΟΝ / 10 / ΛΕΠΤΑ in three lines; below denomination, ESSAI flanked by two anchors (privy mark of the Engraver General, A. D. Barre, 1855-1878). Divo P89. Karamitsos T.68. KM E22. A most attractive coin, beautifully toned. Graded by NGC "PF 64 RB". Top pop in NGC and PCGS with RB designation. Cert number: 2909005-015.

CILICIA. Kelenderis. Circa 425-400 BC. Stater (Silver, 23 mm, 9.51 g, 10 h). Youth, holding whip and reins, dismounting from horse rearing right; to upper left, sun with ten rays; below horse, EP. Rev. ΚΕΛΕ Mountain goat kneeling to right, head turned back to left; to right, facing head of lion. Cf. BMC 34-35. Cf. von Aulock 5640 (same obverse). Nomos 9, 21 October 2014, 174. Apparently unpublished in the standard references. Rare and stylistically very attractive. Rough surfaces, otherwise, very fine.
