PHOKIS. Delphi. Mid-late 5th century BC. Trihemiobol (Silver, 11 mm, 1.42 g, 6 h). Head of ram to right, with dolphin swimming to right, below neck. Rev. Head of goat facing, flanked by dolphins swimming downward at sides. BCD Lokris 379 (same dies). SNG Aarhus 557. Nicely toned, fine style and good medal. Reverse struck off centre, otherwise, very fine.

From a European collection formed before 2010.

PHOKIS, Federal Coinage. Circa 478-460. Obol (Silver, 10 mm, 0.93 g, 9 h). Facing head of a bull. Rev. ΦΟ Forepart of a boar to right. BCD Phokis 206 (this reverse die). Williams 96 (O71/R58). A well struck, clear example of fine style and good metal with particularly attractive details. Usual die break of the reverse die, otherwise, very fine.
