THRACE. Maroneia. Circa 386/5-348/7 BC. Stater (Silver, 23 mm, 11.47 g, 8 h), struck under the magistrate Choregos. Bridled horse springing to left, with trailing rein. Rev. EΠI XOPHΓO Grape vine with four bunches of grapes, all within linear square; around, inscription with a fly at the upper left; all within a shallow incuse square. Collignon 167 = Schönert-Geiss 452 (V20/R32) = West 113 (same dies). Extremely rare die combination, with only the Collignon example recorded by Schönert-Geiss. Minor flatness, otherwise, extremely fine.
