SICILY. Syracuse. Philistis, wife of Hieron II, 275-215 BC. 16 Litrai (Silver, 27 mm, 13.17 g, 2 h), 240-218/5. Diademed and veiled bust of Philistis to left; behind, grain ear. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΙΣΣΑΣ / ΦΙΛΙΣΤΙΔΟΣ Nike driving quadriga galloping to right; above, crescent with points upwards; to right, KIΣ; below horses, grain ear. CCO 69 (D17/R46). HGC 2, 1554. SNG ANS 882 (same obverse die, but same reverse die as SNG ANS 888). SNG Copenhagen 824 (same dies). Minor flan faults, otherwise, extremely fine.

Horse standing to right; below exergual line, two pellets. Jenkins & Lewis Group V, 274 (same dies) MAA 12. Well centered with complete borders. A few minor scratches, otherwise, very fine.
