Arcadius, 383-408. Solidus (Gold, 20 mm, 3.90 g, 5 h), Constantinople, Γ = 3rd officina, 397-402. D N ARCADI-VS P F AVG Pearl-diademed, helmeted and cuirassed bust of Arcadius facing slightly to right, holding spear over his right shoulder and with shield, ornamented with a horseman spearing a fallen foe, over his left. Rev. CONCORDI-A AVGG Γ / CONOB Constantinopolis seated facing on throne, her head to right, wearing helmet, holding a spear with her right hand, Victory on a globe in her left, and with her right foot resting on a prow. Depeyrot 55/1. RIC 7. Clipped perfectly round to be used in jewellery, a few marks and scrapes, otherwise, very fine.
