Carus, 282-283. Aureus (Gold, 20.5 mm, 4.46 g, 6 h), Cyzicus, late 282-early 283. IMP C M AVR CARVS P F AVG Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Carus to right. Rev. VICTORI AVG / K Victory, holding wreath in her right hand and palm branch in her left, standing left in biga galloping to left. Calicó 4282. Cohen 83. RIC 116. Extremely rare. Sharply struck and perfectly centered. Once mounted with the loop removed resulting in a chip on the edge at 7 h, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.

Emblems of the pontificate: lituus, secespita, capis, simpulum, and aspergillum. Both coins struck at the mint of Rome, the upper coin RIC 156, the lower RIC 155. Minor porosity, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.
