LUCANIA. Velia. Circa 300-280 BC. Didrachm or nomos (Silver, 19.5 mm, 7.33 g, 5 h). Head of Athena to left, wearing laureate Attic helmet. Rev. ΥΕΛΗΤΩΝ Lion walking to right; below, N; in the exergue, filleted thyrsos to right. HN III 1300. SNG ANS 1351 (same dies). Williams 390 (O195/R275). Nicely centered and with a great crest. Very fine.
