PERSIA, Achaemenid Empire. Time of Xerxes II to Artaxerxes II, circa 420-375 BC. Siglos (Silver, 15 mm, 5.56 g, 12 h), Sardes. Persian king, wearing radiate tiara, in running/kneeling stance to right, holding dagger in his right hand and bow in his left, quiver over his shoulder. Rev. Oblong incuse. BMC Arabia pl. XXVII, 10. Carradice Type IV/B, pl. XIV, 43. Lightly toned, with a bold strike and interesting bankers' marks on the reverse. Very fine.
