BAKTRIA, Greco-Baktrian Kingdom. Antimachos I, circa 180-165 BC. Drachm (Silver, 19 mm, 4.25 g, 12 h), Attic standard, Pushkalavati. Diademed and draped bust of Antimachos to right, wearing flat topped kausia. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΘΕ[ΟΥ] ΑΝΤΙΜΑΧΟΥ Poseidon, nude to the waist, standing facing, holding long trident in his right hand and filleted palm branch in his left; to right, monogram of ΝΟ. Bopearachchi Série 2B. Mitchiner 125a. SNG ANS 280-281. Attractively toned and with a splendidly expressive portrait. Extremely fine.
