Constantine IV Pogonatus, 668-685. Half Follis (Copper, 33.5 mm, 10.85 g, 6 h), Constantinople, 1st officina (A), 673. Helmeted and cuirassed bust of Constantine facing, holding globus cruciger in his right hand. Rev. Large K between A/N/N/O and CO; [cross above], A below. DOC 35. MIB III 83. SB 1179. Very rare. A particularly nice piece with a most attractive chocolate brown patina, struck on a uneven and particularly broad flan. Doublestruck and possibly overstruck, otherwise, good very fine.
