Volusian, 251-253. Aureus (Gold, 19.5 mm, 3.16 g, 1 h), Rome. IMP CAE C VIB VOLVSIANO AVG Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Volusian to right. Rev. Virtus standing to left, leaning on his shield set on the ground at his left, and holding long spear; on field to right star. Cf. Calicó 3376 and RIC 162, both lacking the star in the reverse field). An unknown variety. Rough surfaces, pierced for suspension and with a modern spade mark, otherwise, very fine.
