SYRIA, Seleucis and Pieria. Antioch. Philip II, 247-249. Tetradrachm (Silver, 28 mm, 12.39 g, 7 h), 248. MAP IOΥΛI ΦIΛIΠΠOC KECAP Bare-headed and draped bust of Philip to left, seen from behind. Rev. ΔHMAΡΧ EΞOΥCIAC ΥΠATO Γ /ANTIOXIA S C Eagle standing to right, with spread wings, holding wreath in beak. Prieur 395 var. (eagle to left). A fine coin, lustrous and sharp, with lovely details; very rare and possibly unpublished with the eagle to right. Overstruck on a previous antiochian tetradrachm, otherwise, good extremely fine.
