THRACE. Perinthus. Septimius Severus, 193-211. (Bronze, 28.5 mm, 13.94 g, 6 h). AY KΛ CEΠ CEVHΡOC Π Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Septimius Severus to right. Rev. ΠEPINΘIΩN NEΩ-KO-PΩN Nike standing to right, bare to waist ,and with her left foot set on helmet, affixing a shield inscribed ΠY/ΘI/A to palm tree. Schoenert - obverse of 494 but reverse of 582 (Caracalla). An extremely rare coin with only one known example which can be found in wildwinds. Good very fine.
