MYSIA. Pergamon. Circa 166-67 BC. Cistophoric Tetradrachm (Silver, 33 mm, 12.03 g, 12 h), c. 104-98. Basket (cista mystica) from which snake coils; around, ivy wreath with fruits. Rev. Two snakes coiled around a bow case; to left, ΠEPΓ monogram; to right, serpent-entwined staff of Asclepius; between snakes' heads, ΔI. Kleiner, Hoard 12. Pinder 95. SNG France 1719. Toned and well-centered on a particularly broad flan. Very fine.
