BYZANTINE WEIGHTS, Eastern Mediterranean/Aegean Area. Circa 5th-6th century. Weight of 6-nomismata (Bronze, 22x21x5 mm, 25.45 g), a thick, square coin-weight with plain edges (as MAH B1), nomisma of 4.24 g. NS below Greek cross. Rev. Plain. MAH 164. More-or-less as found, with lightly rough surfaces and earthen highlights in the engraving. Nearly very fine.
