THRACE. Ainos. Circa 402/1-400/399 BC. Tetrobol (Silver, 13 mm, 2.53 g, 10 h). Head of Hermes facing, wearing petasos and with his head turned very slightly to his right. Rev. ΑΙΝΙ Goat standing right, his forelegs close together; to right, sprouting corn-grain; all within incuse square. May, Ainos 333 (A208/P223) = McClean 3934. Extremely rare, perhaps only the second example known. With a lovely head of Hermes. Lightly rough surfaces, and with a reverse that is lightly struck and has minor metal fault, otherwise. Extremely fine.
