CELTIC, Northwest Gaul. Carnutes. 56-54 BC. (Bronze, 17.5 mm, 3.49 g, 6 h), Tasgetios and Elcesovix. EΛKESOOYIX Diademed male head to right; grape behind neck. Rev. TASGIITIOS around pegasus springing to right. DT 2593. Flesche 186. LT 6295. Brown patina; particularly well struck reverse. Worn obverse die, otherwise, very fine.



This very interesting coin has as prototype the denarii of Q. Titius, struck at 90 BC in Rome (Crawford 341/1. Sydenham 691).
