SELEUKID KINGS of SYRIA. Antiochos II Theos, 261-246 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 27mm, 16.92 g 12), Lysimachia. Diademed head of Antiochos I to right. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΑΝΤΙΟΧΟΥ Apollo, nude, seated left on an omphalos; testing arrow held in his right hand and resting his left on his bow, leaning on the omphalos; to left, within the legend, lion’s head to right; in field to left, monogram of ΜΕ. SC 482 var. WSM 1611 var . Attractively toned and with a good portrait. An apparently unpublished variety with this monogram. With some minor flan faults and a weakly struck reverse, otherwise , nearly extremely fine.
