Beautiful Quadrigatus of great style
Anonymous, Quadrigatus (Silver, 23mm, 6.51 g 7), Rome, c. 225-214/212. Laureate janiform head of the Dioscouri. Rev. Jupiter, holding scepter and thunderbolt, standing right in a quadriga, driven to right by Victory who stands beside him; below, tablet, with angled sides, bearing ROMA in incuse letters. Crawford 29/3. Sydenham 64. A lovely, clear piece, very well-centered on a broad flan. Some surface roughness, otherwise, extremely fine.

An attractive example, clear and well centered. Uncleaned horn-silver on the reverse, otherwise, extremely fine.
