CELTIC, Central Europe. Vindelici. 1st century BC. Quinarius (Silver, 13.5 mm, 1.43 g), 'Büschelquinar' type. Head devolved into a palmette made from eight curved leaves connected by a central line ornamented with pellets, and topped by a crescent. Rev. Horse prancing to left. Kellner Group C. SLM 956. Unusual obverse with a "palmette" as usually the curved "leaves" follow a circular pattern. Very fine.
