KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Hemiobol (Bronze, 18 mm, 6.34 g, 3 h), struck posthumously during the reign of Philip III, Tarsos, c. 323-317. Head of Herakles in lion's skin head-dress to right; before, kerykeion. Rev. AΛEΞANΔPOY flanked by bow in case and club; above, kerykeion. Newell, Tarsos 46. Price 3061. Of unusually fine condition and with a lovely dark patina; particularly uncommon with a symbol on the obverse. Very fine.
