KINGS of MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Unit (Bronze, 18mm, 5.64 g 3), uncertain mint in Asia Minor, c. 323-310. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion’s skin headdress. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ Club and bow in bowcase; to left, race torch; to right, Α; at top of bowcase, circular countermark of a lion’s head to right within a circular indent. Price 2800a ff. An attractive piece with a dark green patina. Extremely fine.
