SICILY, Lilybaion (as ‘Cape of Melkart’). Circa 330-305 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 25mm, 16.97 g 7). Ršmlqrt Quadriga galloping to left; above, Nike flying right to crown the driver. Rev. Head of Tanit to right, wearing triple-pendant earring and pearl necklace; to left, dolphin; to right, two dolphins. Jenkins, Punic 16 (O8/R16). An attractive, lightly toned piece with an impressive, large head of Tanit of distinctly Punic rather than Sicilian style. Obverse slightly off center, otherwise, about extremely fine.
