SICILY. Himera. Circa 425-409 BC. Hemilitron (Bronze, 19 mm, 4.59 g, 7 h). Pan, blowing from a conch shell held in his right hand and, with his left, holding a lagobolon over his left shoulder, riding a goat prancing to right; below, Corinthian helmet to right. Rev. IMEPAIO Nike flying to left, holding filleted aphlaston with her right hand and the lower part of her robes with her left; in the field to left, six pellets (= hexonkia). CNS 27. HGC 2, 474. SNG Copenhagen 318. Perfectly centered. Removed from NGC holder #3811377-006, graded CH XF 5/5, 4/5. Good very fine.
