GREECE. Georgios I, 1863-1913. 10 Drachmai 1876 (Gold, 19 mm, 3.25 g, 5 h), Paris = A, struck from dies by Albert-Désiré Barre, reeded edge. ΓΕΩΡΓΙΟΣ Α! ΒΑΣΙΛΕΥΣ ΤΩΝ ΕΛΛΗΝΩΝ / A. Youthful head of George I to right; below truncation, in tiny letters, BAPPE. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΙΟΝ ΤΗΣ ΕΛΛΑΔΟΣ Laurel wreath containing surrounding 10 / ΔΡΑΧΜΑΙ / 1876 in three lines; privy marks bee (for the Mint Director, Renouard de Bussière, 1860-1879) on the left and an anchor (for the Engraver General, A. D. Barre, 1855-1878) on the right. Divo 48. Karamitsos 162, KM 48. In lower grades this is not an uncommon coin, but it is extremely rare in MS 66 as it is here. Graded by NGC "MS 66". THRACE. Maroneia. Circa 189/8-49/5 BC. (Bronze, 26.5 mm, 15.98 g, 12 h). Head of youthful Dionysos to right, wearing ivy wreath. Rev. ΔΙΟΝVΣΟV / ΣΩΤΗΡΟΣ / ΜΑΡΩΝΙΤΩΝ Dionysos, nude but for chlamys draped over his left arm, standing left, holding grape bunch in right hand, two narthex stalks in his left; flanking his feet, two monograms. HGC 3.2, 1557. Schönert-Geiss 1415 (V25/R54). Dark green patina. Light porosity, otherwise, very fine.
