Youthful head of George I to right; below truncation, in tiny letters, BAPPE. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΙΟΝ ΤΗΣ ΕΛΛΑΔΟΣ Laurel wreath containing surrounding 5 / ΔΡΑΧΜΑΙ / 1876 in three lines; privy marks bee (for the Mint Director, Renouard de Bussière, 1860-1879) on the left and an anchor (for the Engraver General, A. KINGS OF ELYMAIS. Kamnaskires V, circa 54/3-33/2 BC. Tetradrachm (Billon, 27 mm, 15.74 g, 12 h), Seleukeia on the Hedyphon, dated ϛΞΣ = year 266 of Seleukid era = 47/6 BC. Diademed, bearded, and draped bust of Kamnaskires V to left, wearing circular earring and torc; to right, star above anchor. Rev. BΑCΙΛEΩC / ΚΑMΝΑCΚΙΡΟΥ / TΟY EΓ ΒΑCΙΛEΩC / KΑMΝΑCΚΙΡ / Diademed and bearded head of Kamnaskires IV to left, wearing torc; in exergue, ϛΞΣ (?)(retrograde). Alram 463 (for type). Sunrise 480 var. (date). Van't Haaff 9.1, Subtype 1-3. The reading of the date is not entirely beyond doubt, but very close to the depiction offered by Van't Haaff for this year. Minor flan damage, otherwise, good very fine.
