BAKTRIA, Local issues. Uncertain mint. 4th century BC. (Silver, 9 mm, 0.71 g, 4 h). Forepart of boar running to right. Rev. Stylized head of a lion to right; within square incuse. BMC -. SNG Copenhagen -. Klein -. HGC -. Seemingly an unpublished type, save for its auction appearances: Roma Numismatics 60E, 2019, 397 (differing dies) and Naumann 90, 2020, 27 (this coin). An intriguing local issue, apparently from Baktria, and in need of further academic research (anyone wishing a grant to do so should contact our academic coordinator, J. Stelzhammer, for further information and regulations). Minor marks, otherwise, good very fine.
